It's not everyday that the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) gives career advice.

But on Friday afternoon at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) in Makati City, this is exactly what Christine Lagarde did.?

Speaking before 400 students--mostly from the business school--the IMF's first female head offered two career tips as posted on the AIM's Twitter account.?

Her first piece of advice emphasized the importance of travel.?

Her second tip placed importance on never losing sight of the big picture.?

However, not everything she said was all touchy feely.?

She gave positive remarks to the Philippines, citing its resilience owing to structural reforms it has undertaken.?

The Paris-born Lagarde also praised AIM, saying it's one of the best institutes that helps its graduates take on global challenges.?

Overall, it was a good thing her speaking engagement at the AIM wasn't called off. Because it would be a pity to send her to the Coconut Palace for the second time around.?
